My family has been helping to care for a neighbor who has been in hospice care during the pandemic. After he died comfortably at home, we received a box of treats from our local bakery with a note that said, "Thank you for taking care of Michael. From your Maple Avenue neighbors." We were so honored to help care for our neighbor, but it made me feel like I was part of a larger community to receive this kind note and treat.
