Highlights

My 103-year-old grandfather in Montreal who survived a COVID infection recently. Hoping the border to Canada is opened soon.

Dr. Scott Wright, Johns Hopkins Medicine

My residents!

Dr. Shannon Scott-Vernaglia, Mass General

The incredible team of educators with whom I’ve taught online or am collaborating on arts-based education research.

Dr. Margaret Chisolm, Johns Hopkins Medicine

My grandma. The pandemic has made me cherish my time with her even more.

Margot Kelly-Hedrick, med student, Duke University

I'd like to share a meal with our extended family. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner, any meal. I'd just like to introduce our new daughter to her family and be in their presence.

Dr. Mariah Robertson, Johns Hopkins Medicine

My mom because I miss her, and also a dinner with just me and my husband. We have two children under the age of five and haven't eaten a dinner without them in over a year because of the pandemic. Can’t wait to have dinner just the two of us sometime soon.

Dr. Laura Hanyok, Johns Hopkins Medicine

I would love to share a dinner with my extended family. With all of us getting vaccinated I would love to all be around a big table enjoying a traditional Italian dinner. I can see us passing dishes back and forth, having great conversation, and toasting with a nice bottle of red wine.

Dr. Michael Crocetti, Johns Hopkins Medicine

My brother Luke, his wife Molly, and my two nephews. Tom is four and Theo is two. I miss them all so much.

Gretchen Miller, CLOSLER Managing Editor

We're hoping to have a very belated annual Galentine’s dinner and donation swap. I miss my small group of friends, sitting around, bellyaching, sipping wine, and laughing.

My residents! Once a year we have coverage for every single one of them for a dinner party. To share that dinner with them this year is my greatest wish

What do you think?

Do you want to add to the conversation? Please share!

The incredible team of educators with whom I’ve taught online or am collaborating on arts-based education research. Some I’ve met in-person, others I haven’t, and many haven’t met one another in-person, despite a year of working together!

My brother Luke, his wife Molly, and my two nephews. Tom is four and Theo is two. I miss them all so much. I hope to get there by June or July for a week together in our childhood home in beautiful Belfast, Maine.
