Highlights

Every book changes my life in some way. That said, "Quiet," by @susancain allowed me to value what I bring to the table and HOW I bring it to the table in a way that was quite transformational.

Dr. Shannon Scott-Vernaglia, Mass General

"Evicted," by Mathew Desmond opened my eyes to housing issues I didn’t know about and want to impact. "4,000 Weeks," by Oliver Burkeman recently helped me reflect on life!

Dr. Colleen Christmas, Johns Hopkins Medicine

"The Making of a Surgeon," by Dr. William A. Nolen. It was motivational and helped with my career decision.

Dr. Richard Schaefer, Johns Hopkins Medicine

"Between the World and Me."

Dr. Eileen Barett

"Man's Search For Meaning," by Viktor E. Frankl blew my mind.

Dr. Richard Wardrop, Cleveland Clinic

"Man's Search For Meaning" is one of my favorite books. “Everything can be taken from a man but one thing, the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”

Dr. Matt Stewart, Cleveland Clinic

"Personal History," by Katherine Graham. It helped me realize I can both work AND have a family.

Dr. Maria Carney, Northwell Medicine

"Mindset," by Dr. Carol Dweck.

Dr. Shanna Matalon

"John Thompson's Modern Course For The Piano."

Dr. Frank Cacace

"This Is How It Always Is," by Laurie Frankel taught me so much about acceptance of our own identity, the many and messy ways to be a loving parent, and how transformative social work sometimes is.

Dr. Claire Crawford

Every book is a revelation.

Dr. Carl Streed Jr., Boston Medical Center

Everything by Mary Oliver.

Dr. Megan Gerber

Lewis Thomas’ “The Lives of a Cell.” It encouraged my love of biology, and introduced me to the intersections of science+medicine+humanities.

Dr. Eric Last

Gazing at bookcase in my office (yeah, I shoulda been doing notes) I saw my old college copy of Lewis Thomas’ “The Lives of a Cell.” It encouraged my love of biology, and introduced me to the intersections of science+medicine+humanities. Due for a re-read.
