Seeing brand new interns and residents join the ranks in July is always inspiring. They are eager and clear-eyed and remind us of our own motivations in this profession.

Shannon Scott-Vernaglia, MD, Mass General

Michael Crocetti, MD, Johns Hopkins Medicine

The opportunity to reconnect with family and friends. These past four months have been isolating. I’m hopeful that we get the safe opportunity to gather and share something as a simple as a meal with close friends and family.

Rachel Levine, MD, Johns Hopkins Medicine

Being home so much more because of the pandemic has given me time to really enjoy my garden. It feels less like a chore and much more joyful to tend to the garden.

Mike Fingerhood, MD, Johns Hopkins Medicine

Time to exercise with longer daylight hours and it’s easier to go for a run after work (I don’t mind the heat).  Also, I can finally swim again in an outdoor pool, as indoor pools have been closed due to COVID-19.
