Highlights

Jeffrey Millstein, MD, Penn Medicine

We cancelled our beach plans. Priority this year more than ever—ONE week with NO screen time. ESPECIALLY since my whole practice has been nonstop screen time for months.

Carl Streed Jr., MD, Boston Medical Center

No screens, no grants, no news. It will be a complete unplug. #privilege

As I have thought through the risks and my motivations for summer travel, I’ve decided instead to enroll in an online yoga teacher training. It seems more in keeping with the flow of the times.

Megan Gerber, MD, Boston University

Just completely “off the grid” somewhere somehow—I feel like a peripheral device plugged in constantly!

Mariah Robertson, MD, Johns Hopkins

We’re due with our 3rd child this summer. If we travel it will be a road trip to see a few key family members/friends who may not have a chance to meet baby for several months otherwise. (Of course being careful and using COVID data to guide where and who we feel safe visiting.)

Kimberly Turner, MD, Johns Hopkins

We cancelled our cruise to Alaska this summer to see the wildlife and glaciers and celebrate our second child’s graduation from high school.

The celebration, relaxation, and stress-free vacation would have been crucial even pre-pandemic, but now, I’m not sure how any of us are going to handle the increased stress, increased workload, and increased danger of acquiring infection with no real vacation time.

Irene Mestores, MD, University of Florida

In an abbey, to continue an immersion into a monastic lifestyle and learn how to live that out in the world. #wellness #mindfulness
